Jason Landry

In the late hours of December 13, 2020, Jason headed out from his apartment to return home for the holiday break. Jason used the Waze app as a GPS as he had only made this trip home to Missouri City, Texas. The GPS app shuts off where Highway 80 becomes East Austin Street and Jason opens Snapchat in Luling, Texas.

Investigators believe that Jason continued on East Austin Street to where it turns into Salt Flat Road.

Salt Flat Road.

Just hours after Jason left his apartment, a volunteer firefighter found Jason’s wrecked Nissan Altima. The drivers side rest against a tree and barbed wire fence. The lights were still on, keys in the ignition and the front door was locked. The rear windshield was shattered.

The volunteer firefighter called for back up. The crash was originally thought to be abandoned and the driver perhaps intoxicated fled the scene. A tow truck was called and Jason’s vehicle was impounded.

Jason’s father, Kent, came to the impound lot the next morning and found Jason’s cell phone in between the driver seat and center console.

Kent then went out to the crash site where he found Jason’s clothing, including the shirt, shorts, socks, underwear, and sandals he had been known to be wearing earlier that day, backpack, shoes, watch and beta fish about 900 feet from where his vehicle crashed.

Original reports stated Jason’s backpack was “filled” with narcotics, but only a few joints of marijuana were actually found along with his laptop, wallet, playstation and a few personal items.

Since Jason has gone missing, thousands of acres have been searched with no leads.
